On 28 – 29 November 2024, the SEE NPM Network came together for their annual meeting in Vienna, at the premises of the Austrian Ombudsman Board. This year’s theme was “Conditions for the pre-trial detainees”.
Besides the basic information on the topic by each NPM, the agenda focused on material detention conditions, health care service, prevention of violence and ill-treatment, and special measures for vulnerable people, such as women, juveniles or people with disabilities.
Following a fruitful two—day meeting, the SEE Network adopted unanimously the conclusions document, which is available on the SEE NPM Network site.
Slovenia will chair the SEE NPM Network meetings in 2025, having confirmed to organise one meeting in spring 2025. Montenegro will be hosting a second meeting in autumn.
